Any one in Calgary? The rent for one bedroom is pricey  upto $1800/month. Does the rent cover utilities:rent+electricity+gas+phone+internet+parking+heating your car during winter?

It varies between places  Usually heat and water is included and power, phone, internet is not  Sometimes power is also included.  Most places have an outside parking spot for your apartment, in some cases they might have a parking garage, most places will not have a heated garage.  You can look at some places at http://www.bwalk.com/ but it's not the cheapest place to rent.  You will find more places when you are here and can look at ads in the papers directly.

But Leon, say if someone takes the 'benefit' route, do you think the government will help them with free accommodation as part of the whole package? Some informative websites regarding this will be useful if you can please

I don't really know this system myself, sorry.  I have never heard of free housing except homeless shelters but I don't think they have free heated parking for your car Cheesy

Abla_h  Better ask estate agents in Calgary , they will give a correct and appropriate answer.
