renewing work permit while waiting for ppr

hi everyone,
my work permit expired in July/2011 so I sent in a paper application before the work permit expired. I still haven't received a new work permit from them since July/2011 and meanwhile I am waiting for ppr. Now I am worrying if they will ask for the new work permit to prove that I am legal to stay in Canada when they send me a passport request.
for my pr application: I have submitted to Buffalo since August/2010 and got my medical done in March/2011.

if you are apply your new permit with same employer and working for same employer than DON'T[ WORRY, THEY WILL NOT ASK IF THEY ASK YOU CAN SAY MY PERMIT RENEWAL IS UNDER PROCESSING, THEY CAN FIND EASILY ABOUT YOUR APPLICATION DONT WORRY  /b]
