Hi, I need to renew my study permit and entry visa, and in the application it says "DO NOT MAIL ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS". So if that means "don't mail your passport", how will they issue my entry visa?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm hoping this will get answered quickly... Thanks a lot in advance.

You are confusing apples and oranges.  You extend your study permit in Vegreville and then you apply for a TRV (visitor visa) to one of the Canadian offices in the US.  You have to send your passport for the TRV.  See: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/imm/visa_temp.aspx?lang=eng#REQUIREMENTSCANADA

Hi, thanks for replying quickly.

I was under the impression that I did not need to make a separate application for the TRV if I wanted to renew my study permit.

"It is not necessary to make a separate application for extension of temporary resident status when you apply for a study permit. The officer will issue all the necessary documentation with the one application."

That's what it says on the guide to apply.

That is what is says in the guide for apply for a study permit overseas.  You are applying for an extension in Canada to Vegreville.  TRVs are only issued at overseas offices.
