renewing long gone PR status

I immigrated to Canada long ago when I was 5 years old. I lived there until I was 29 at which point I emigrated to New Zealand. My parents, siblings and extended family are all still in Canada and I was wondering what my chances were of having my PR status renewed. I now have a wife and children but still consider Canada my home and would like to look at living there again (at least for a few years) so my kids can get to know their grandparents and so I can spend time with my family. Would there be H&C grounds?

Unlikely that there are any H.& C grounds.  You emigrated at the age 29 and your spouse and children have no connection to Canada.  You would have to re-apply and qualify as a skilled worker.

If your relatives live in SK or MB, it is possible that they can sponsor your family for PR through Provincial nominee program family stream.  Other than that, what PMM said.  Should have applied for citizenship when you had the chance.
