Renewing citizenship card for my son

I'm renewing my son's citizenship card.  His current citizenship card features a pic of him eight years ago, when he was one years old.  He was born in Japan to a Canadian parent.  On the form, it asks "Are you claiming citizenship by birth to a Canadian parent?"  I'm not sure what to put there, cause he I'd say he's already claimed Canadian citizenship.  Should I check the "yes" or "no" box for that question?
