Hi. I am a nurse too. I applied last May 08 but processed by CIC-Manila last July 08. It took a while before my papers moved on because I have to wait for the recently announced 38 occupation list. Right now I am in the process of completing all the documents requested by the embassy such IELTS, employment certificates, proof of funds etc.etc.etc. I am a bit anxious right now coz I am scheduled to take the IELTS this march 07, my first time to take this exam and I do not know what to expect. Just did self review and hopefully all will be ok. I am a RN here in California working in  a dialysis unit, what about you?

I submitted my application last January 22 and reached Sidney January 27. My AOR is dated Feb. 6 and they are just giving me 120 days to complete all the requirements. I am now waiting for the Police Clearance here and the notarized employment certificate which is done in the Philippines. Hopefully by this month everything will be there in there office, (London). By the way I am a Nurse and currently working here in Qatar.
Have you applied for CRNE? I am waiting for my eligibility. I have submitted my complete documents. IQAS is still in process of evaluating my school credential. Good luck to your IELTS. May our application go smoothly.

Have you applied for CRNE?

Power,
As far as I know you can't write CRNE outside Canada. You can apply for the membership with the body evaluating your credentials, though. Have you ever sat for any test toward your RN? And, which destination in Canada are you heading for?

Salamat!

Qestion lang po.... Registered Nurse din.... in the application, there was already a box wherein you will indicate the funds....im in the process of filing my application under the FSW Category 1, but i have not yet filed or mailed it. Upon reading the some information at www.cic.gc.ca, Applicant FSW (Category 1) needs only to submit the application forms, copy of the bio-data page in the passport and the 2 self addressed labels, without any supporting documents as of the moment which are specified in the Appendix A-Checklist.... Right now i do not have the minimum required funds (four [4] Family Members including my self: $20,130 CAD [http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp]), but i will comply with it. However, in the application (schedule 3, box no. 10) there is a box to be filled up corresponding to "funds". My query: Since i do not have the required funds as of the moment, what will i indicate in the box for "funds"? Will i place N/A since I do not have the funds yet or Will i indicate the amount as specified in the proof of funds section for four (4) family members specified in www.cic.gc.ca? Any way, the supporting documents, as i have understood for applicants under FSW Category 1, will be submitted after the application has been recommended for further processing.....hope someone can enlighten me about this...thank you very much.... kailangan mong i answer na meron kang required amount nila. even if you dont have it now.

you'll have a few months to build up your accounts before they ask for your proof of funds.

somebody suggested to me that you dont put in the exact amount you need but put in a little extra to show proof that you can afford to buy your tickets, shipping costs and other expenses.
