you may start the immigration right after passing General IELTS exam as a requirement for immigration.
later you may pass Academic for registration in nursing except forbCNO which accept General IELTS too.
when you send your medical results you better to start Nursing registration.

Hi,

i think CNO has the highest requirements for RNs, they usually require bridging but it depend on your qualification. You can try other small provinces maybe, they may have a lighter requirements and then after a year you can transfer to other provinces you like. Its better than doing a study...with that, you are atleast registered already. All provinces require CRNE or examinations so expect that. If i were you, since you got 67 on the assesment, you can try to apply for FSW and then sort out the registration while waiting for your residency. You need to act fast, immigration laws are always changing..so you better be quick. Smiley

Hi Farpadana,
can you pls confirm this info. Are you saying CNO accepts General ielts module for registration of RNs. I also want to suggest starting the registration even before medicals considering the fact that some provinces now have a lot of people on their waiting list for assessment.

Yes I believe they accept General too. since unlike others in their website they did not determined which type exactly is acceptable.so I did write them the following email:

Good afternoon Farhad,

Both academic and general fluency is accepted at CNO.

If you have any further questions, please contact us either by e-mail at cno @ cnomail.org,  by phone at (416)928-0900, 1-800-387-5526(toll-free in Ontario) by fax at (416) 928 6507 or visit our office at 101 Davenport Road, Toronto, ON, M5R 3P1.

Subject: IELTS Academic or General for registration

Dear sir or madam

I am a registered nurse(BSN) from Iran and working in Kuwait. My immigration process is completed now  and I planed to land in Toronto soon.in order to save time,I would like to ask if I can start registration process while I am out of Canada.whats more, I am holding a valid  IELTS General training scored 7 so I would like to know if IELTS General training is acceptable as the language fluency requirement or Academic is needed.

thank you so much.

sincerely yours.

starting the assessment before landing is crucial now.otherwise you may spend up to 6 month for it in canada.
