You need to check the NOC that fits the duties you perform, registered nurses are classified under NOC 3152. Go to HRSDC (link is available in my signature), search by the NOC code and read the employment requirement.

You need also to note that the cap is reached for 3152, hence you have to wait for the new cycle on July 1st for the cap counter to reset.

Some applicants are actually doing that. If you have the funds to do it, I guess there's no harm in trying.

I hope someone who HAS applied under the LPN NOC will respond and let us know if they were originally RNs.  As a nurse myself, I cannot think why an RN would not be able to apply as an LPN as many RNs do all the duties of an LPN (as well as supervise LPNs and other duties).  I have also heard from a BSN nursing instructor that few of her students are getting full time permanent jobs, whereas LPNs are. It has to make you think!

I think it will be risky to apply as an lpn while your work experience all the way is an rn. CHC made it clear that one have to provide with 1 year experience in every NOC, CHC also seperated 3152 and 3233 noc respectively. It maybe advisable to wait for the new MI but if you want to try just let us know what it turns out.
