According to CIC website

"The person you are sponsoring must fill out the forms
specific to their region"

"Specific instructions that sponsored relatives must follow vary according to
their place of residence"

My wife is a Filipino Citezen and she is working in Singapore. She has work permit called Employment Pass (E-Pass). The work permit is valid until April 2012

She has has been working in Singapore since October 2006. She only go back to the Philippines for vacation.

My question is do use the Singapore or Philippines specific documents?

We would like to process the second part of the aplication in singapore because it is faster. Is this possible?

From what you've said, I would hazard to guess that you should apply through Singapore... but according to the CIC processing times, Singapore is 21 months and Philppines is 10 months.  Am I reading it wrong?  Where did you get your info?

An expert on the forum would know better where to apply.

Based on previous batches (Manila), if case is straightforward and all your documents are complete, you will get your visa within 4 to 6 months from the time you submitted your application.

But yes, you are right, I think Singapore is also fast, but I am not so sure about it. You can check their charts too or something if they have a thread here....

Join the Manila Visa Office if you want to see how most of our applications goes. Smiley

Cheers & Good luck to all of us Smiley

Going through Manila is a lot faster than going through Singapore.
However, you use the region specific forms for the region you are applying through. So if you choose Singapore as the processing office, use the forms for Singapore; if you choose Manila, use the Manila forms.
