NO, there is no any relation between PG work permit and arranged employment letter because of the following :

PG work permit is a new procedure announced by immigration canada to help foreign new graduates to get a canadian experience without any restrictions on the kind or place of work or the employer that you will work for.

The only thing that affect your PG work permit duration is the period of time that you have studied in canada, and the expiry date of your passport (so make sure that you have at least one year left in your passport to get the work permit for one year)

They issue the PG work permit according to the following :

If you study for 1 year, your PG work permit will be for 1 year (if your passport has at least one year left before the expiry date).

If you study for 2 years or more, your PG work permit will be for 3 years (if you have at least 3 years left in your passport before the expiry date).

There is no way to get your PG work permit for more than 1 year if your period of study was only 1 year( don't let any one cheat you by saying that you will get it more than your period of study .....bla bla bla), the immigration rules are very clear in that regard.

I told you that there is no connection between your arranged employment letter and your PG work permit because, in PG work permit under the employer name, they will write (open) means that you are free to work with any employer anywhere in canada.

Your arranged employment letter (with a positive labour market opinion) will benefit you when your PG work permit gets expired and you want to change it for a regular work permit (then you will be allowed to work for one certain employer only in a certain occupation (which you got positive LMO for) and for a certain period of time.
