Hi Guys Hope all are fine and in high spirits. Congratulations to all those who got their PR and wish luck for all those awaiting. I will be soon making my first landing in Canada. But before that wanted to know, how to enter USA to visit family when I'll be there in Canada. I have a B1/B2 visa but my wife doesn't have that. So, should I get her US visa done from Ind only or I can get it done from Canada as well ? Pls advice as which one would be the better option in terms of time taken and also what would be the procedure for the same. Thx in adavance GRV

I would suggest get the US Visa stamped here itself in India before leaving. Interview dates are available as early as 21 March depending upon which consulate you apply to. Process is completely online except that you have to visit a HDFC Bank branch to pay the Visa fees & other service charges. See this link: https://www.vfs-usa.co.in/USIndia/Index.html

I would also suggest that since you have not been resident in Canada for a substantial period of time, you should apply from India as they say on their website: http://usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/us_tcn_present_united_statesNote to Visitors of Canada: With rare exceptions, visa applicants should apply at the U.S. Consular Section in their country of residence. If the applicant is not a resident of Canada, interviewing officers at the U.S..Consular Sections in Canada may not have experience in evaluating the circumstances in the applicant's country of residence. The applicant will, therefore, have greater difficulty establishing eligibility for a U.S. visa in Canada than would be experienced in the applicant's home country. A substantial percentage of visitors to Canada are denied visas under these circumstances. Consequently, visitors to Canada are strongly urged to apply for U.S. visas in their country of residence.

My parents do have B1/B2 stamped in 2007 for 10 years but still unused. If they want to accompany me during my travel to US. Can they use it anytime in 10 years? Any idea.

Visa within validity can be used anytime, you don't need a official confirmation for that...!! However entry at the Airport can still be denied by the Immigration Officer even if you have a valid visa, but don't get scared, that is just an official statement !!
