Hello,

I applied under CEC as IT ANALYST - (NOC 2171) and duties which I mentioned is matching 2174 NOC code. My bad, application was rejected because of reference letter from Employer.

Can some one please let me know if I can re-apply with new Role(Application Developer) & NOC 2174 which is matching with the duties I am performing.

Would there be a problem since I am re-applying with new Role and new NOC codes?

Thanks guys in advance!!!!

Do you mean, the application was rejected because the duties in the Letter of Employment did not match the NOC code?

In any case, you can re-apply, just correct the mistake!

hey jes_ON,

Thanks..No Mine was rejected because I did not provide Employer reference letter.

So there won't be any problem if I apply with different Role and diferent NOC code al together when compared to first one? However I wont change my duties which was mentioned in first application. Will this work?

Thanks!!!

Hi PCO0212,

I suppose the job profiles for NOC 2171 and 2174 are close and both pertain to Computer software development. It is highly recommended to select the NOC with respect to your employer reference letter having your work experience details. I too had the same problem but managed it somehow. I have recently filed my application.

Good luck!!

Hi PCO0212,

Also, what was the explaination given by Visa officer for rejecting your application ? They just said they are rejecting as you have not provided the Employer letter ?

Hi Torap,

The rejection says,
"though you have mentioned duties performed in Canada, there is no letter from supervisor explaining you performed those in Canada. hence I am not satisfied with ... and rejecting....."

Hi love-canada,
My WP says Embeded System Software Engineer.

Thats why I am worried whether I can apply with different ROLE and NOC newly as compared to first application. Will this be a problem for new application?

Thanks!!

Although, applying with the wrong NOC code could lead to visa rejection, I think the real issue here is employment reference letter. It's pretty clear that they rejected you mainly because you didn't provide a work reference letter.  So even if you apply with a different NOC code that matches your duties, without the reference letter, it will probably be rejected as well.

Does your work place not provide reference letters for PR ?

Hi Johnny31,

Yeah I could not get Reference letter from my employer. However I am trying to get from my seniors.
So I wanted to make sure whether applying again with different Role & NOC is fine Huh

Thanks!!

If you can get a reference letter that states your duties and how long you have been employed by your company, you can apply again with the NOC that matches the duties listed from your reference letter.

Also, whats the job title of your seniors?  Because I think the letter should be from a supervisor, owner, or from your human resources division.

Good luck

Hi,
Please help me!!!
I wanted to know about few things of my case. I have the following occupations mentioned in my WP 's and my employer has their own job title for me. Now how do I need to match with these job titles?

Interact Media Prog  developer    2174   6months
Embeded sys soft deisgner      2173    1yr
Software dev services         2174   6 months
Software dev services         2174    1yr
Embeded sys soft deisgner      2173    1yr

And do I need to ask my employer to provide me the job title matching with the NOC published by hrsdc,( I dont think this option is possible) or it is enough to have the job duties matching with the hrsdc job title?

And another question is do I need to have 24 months of experience in any one of the NOC code or I can have 24 months of experience cumulative of these NOC codes?

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi MAA2YVR ,

I suppose your NOCs are close and guess your designation might be something close to Software engineer. Hope your employer would also give you some title close to Software Engineer.

Did you perform different duties and roles under the below NOCs ? If so, ask your employer to mention the specific duties and role.
For example, NOC 2174 should be something like a Computer programmer and NOC 2173 should be something like Software engineer.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Your employer states the job title that they gave you.   If your position has changed over time, the letter needs to identify all job titles and specific dates attached to each job title.

For the NOC code, what matters is the main duties, not the title -

And another question is do I need to have 24 months of experience in any one of the NOC code or I can have 24 months of experience cumulative of these NOC codes?

It can be cumulative.
