Hi!!

I have my work permit which says "This does not authorize Re-Entry". So if I need to visit another country and comeback, is it not possible to enter with the same WP, do I need to change/renew the one that I currently have. Please clarify!!

nothing to worry .. wp is authorization to work....
ur entry is through the trv (temp resident visa ) on your passport.

what it means is , even if you have a work permit but no trv or if trv is expired then you need to apply for your trv to re-enter.
and your trv should mention your new status 'W' as worker.

you cannot travel outside country with valid work permit but no trv
but u can apply for trv with valid work permit

very simple.....

u can apply to the us VO, new york , instuctions and packages are from cic website for the applciation forms

apart from the docs in the checklist you can attach the following.
1) employment verification letter from employer, office ID card/ business card
2) copy of work permit.
3) bank statements (if available )
4) cover letter
5) passports and mail it to NY office

wait for a couple of weeks and you will get ur trv .. voila !
