I would like to know if there are ways for a family that is currently living in USA to apply for a refugee protection in Canada when an asylum has been denied in the USA. I appreciate any information, suggestions, etc on alternatives and possibilities for a case like this.

Basically No (there are some exceptions) but Canada has signed a safe third country accord with the US where refugee claims are adjudicated in the first country, no country shopping allowed.
