refugee claimant

hi everyone. i have apply for refugee in Canada, well two years now and i have not had my hearing. i applied because of domestic violence back in my home country, we went to the police several times and they have not done anything to help. they refer to it as a family matter. we try to make a case against the offender but the police officers never followed up on it. we lived in fear for years and i finally had enough and came to Canada and apply for refugee for my family and i. i am in Canada awaiting my case while my family is still in domestic violence. My questions are:

1) how long will i have to wait until my case get heard?

2) what are my chances of being accepted as a refugee?
