Refugee claim withdrawal
«

HELLO,I urgently need help! Me and my husband withdraw our refugee claim but before we did that, had to by airplane tickets back to
our country for serious family reasons. My husband went to the IRB and showed them the airplane e-tickets on July 20th and signed a form
about the withdrawal. He brought one for me,I signed it,he took it back the next day and they told him,we need to go back together for
signing the files. They asked our phone number and told him to wait until they contact us because the officer is on vacation.
Today my husband called them again because no one called us yet and they answered that the officer is still on vacation and we have
to wait.We have to leave on Sunday and still don't know if we get our passports back or not.
Who can help us in this situation? And what is going to happen exactly until we leave the country finally?
PLEASE HELP!
Thank you,
Sara

Ask them if someone is replacing the officer who is currently on holidays. If not, you will miss the departure date and lose the tickets (and the money).

Thank you for replying. They finally called us and gave an appointment. We did not abuse anything, they should
change the law.We hope they will not humiliate us at the airport. We won't get back our passport until we arrive
to our country.

Have a safe trip back home! I do not see who would humiliate you at the airport or why someone would do such a thing! Canadians are v. civilized and professional.
