Re-establishing PR
«
on:

My family and I will come back to Canada this January and we need advice regarding applying for tax, applying for health card for my wife will be 4 months pregnant then. Is international health insurance better until my wife gave birth? Can we have details and steps on how to apply for tax and health insurance?
Also about child benefits? how to apply and what are the steps also? Many thanks.

You mean you need a social insurance number? You would go to Service Canada to apply for that. For health card, depends on your province but usually they want some proof that you are living in the province. If you move to AB, you would have health insurance from day one and I think in SK too. I think Quebec and maybe MB are making exceptions on the waiting period for pregnancy related expenses. The other provinces, you basically have to check but there's usually a 3 month waiting period for health care. You should have some kind of inurance, at least emergency travel insurance in case you have an emergency while you wait to get covered.
