Hi everyone...

Ok so here is the short of the long story...I contacted my MP in an effort to find out what the hold up is on my hubbys file, and he told me that immigration in Pretoria have completed all checks but are waiting on his medicals and that they sent a medical request on Jan the 11th. So, my husbands initial exam was done on February 20, 2010, Oct 5 2010 we received a furtherance, completed forwarded everythin ok on Jan 11, i emailed them to let them know as well. So I dont know who they sent the med request to, us or Nairobi because we havent recieved anything? As well,  Im assuming his medz have expired, we were planning on just re-doing the medz ourselves tommorow without having to wait for them to ask for it!
Is there anyway possible that his medz could have been extended? I have a feeling the expiration is also the issue.

Has anyone ever re-done their medz without being asked to and whether they were accepted or not???

Please help guys, I don't want to take chances that will come back and haunt me, at the same time we dont want to waste time waiting.

Inland application medicals can and do get extended. I have not see this happen to outland application medicals.
Given that the PR expiry date is directly related to the medical, I suggest that you will need another medical.

There are people who have provided a second medical without a request and been accepted.

No doubt others will comment.

yes there are outland applicants who provided their new medicals without being asked...usually the medicals for outland process do not get extended and urs expired already...if u r sure that they finished with the whole process then u could re-do the medicals now; they should have asked already but even if they didn't yet u will save time until they will....the medicals will take from 6-8 weeks to be received....at the moment when u do them make sure they confirm when they receive them

hope members processed in the same visa office will read this thread and give their input
