, Hi,
I understand you have lot of confusion about many of the IMM forms!!!.
If you are a new immigrant ( I mean if you are going to land first time in Canada with your PR Visa ) then you need not worry about IMM 5455 which is not required.
After sending your passports for visa stamping, it will be returned to you along with the original COPR.
You have to hand over that original COPR to the Immigration Officer at your port of entry in Canada.
After reviewing your COPR together with your passport - and of course some questions to you -, the officer will return a copy of the COPR with his endorsements on it, allowing you to enter Canada as a Permanent Resident.
Until you get your PR card from CIC by ordinary mail, the copy of your COPR is the proof of your landing which shows that you are a landed immigrant in Canada.
Within 6 to 8 weeks you will automatically receive the PR Card in your mail box of given address. Therefore you don't have to submit any sort of application for the PR Card. It is an automatic process in continuation of your landing.
Keep in mind that you should keep the copy of COPR with you till you receive the PR Card from CIC. Please do not send it any where.
Hope you are clear now.
Welcomes you to Canada. wish you a happy landing!!.
