Hey everyone,

I have recently applied to sponsor my Swedish wife that's going to take a few months to process. She however became interested in a certain job in Canada and wishes to apply for a Young mobility program visa. She seems eligible based on the requirements listed on the Canadian embassy website. We are just concerned that it might interfere with the sponsorship application process in some way.

Is it safe to apply for the Youth Mobility Program visa while waiting for outland immigration case to be processed?

Any input is deeply appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Matti

It will not interfere with the sponsorship but it is possible that she could be denied to get the youth mobility visa based on having a Canadian spouse.  It depends on the embassy really. She can ask them before she applies.

it's been used quite often by EU citizens to bridge the waiting time. Never heard of any issues. she might be a little late with her application though as the number of issued visa p.a. is limited...
