Hi there

Just wondering if anyone has recently applied for the Australian Federal Police clearance and if so, how long did it take..? Apart from my medical, it is the last thing I am waiting for... already received FBI and UK clearances- faster than expected - so getting a bit anxious that these could expire before receiving the Australian ones.

I think they're doing them quite fast now.  Mine only took about two weeks.  I rang them up to enquire about the status of it and was surprised to hear it was on its way back to me.

Thanks for your speedy response... That's good news...hopefully mine will arrive soon as I posted the prints about 4 weeks ago...  I guess I need to take into account mailing times from Australia to Scotland   Cool

That's true, it takes about 10 days post to get back to Scotland I think.  It's probably worth your while to give them a call to enquire.  It might put your mind at ease about them.

I emailed AFP and they advised that they had posted out my certificate on 5th April '11... I still hadn't received it y'day so I emailed them back saying I suspected it had been lost in the postal system and asked if they could reissue the certificate without me having to go through the whole application process again.  They replied yes, and all I needed to do was provide my current postal address...  all good.  Hopefully it won't get lost in the post this time around  Shocked
