Hello everybody,
Let me be very quick. I have received passport request regarding to my permanent resident application from the Buffalo office. The problem is that I am not in Canada now. The question is that is it possible to send one of my friends who is in Canada my passport, and ask him to mail my passport to Buffalo (from Canada)? In other words, is my physical presence in Canada necessary for the issuance of the immigration VISA?

Thank you all,
Ahmad

Huh any answer???

Why will you send your passport for stamping to Canada....you shld send it to your Visa Ofc where you applied...was it Buffalo, NY ofc?!?
Same with my case.... I was in US when I received PPR so I sent my passport to my friend in Phil & she sent it to my Visa Ofc then after waiting for 2wks she got the stamped PP & mailed it back to me here in US.

Hi Ahmad,

As others have said you don't send your PP to Canada, but to the visa office where you applied.  However, note that for most countries, you cannot mail your passport across the border.
