Hi all,

I am happy to inform, thanks to God, received request for passport.

Timeline:

Submitted application: June 2007
AOR: July 24, 2007
Request to take IELTS: Aug 2007
Submitted IELTS test results: Oct 7 2007
Interview waived: Dec 20, 2007
Sent medicals, PCC (India+FBI): Mar 7, 2008
Received request for passport: Apr 15, 2008

Overall took less than a year from AOR.
Would have been 3 months faster if I had submitted IELTS when submitting original application.
Suggest you do it if you are confident of your English fluency..

Hi,

Mind if i ask what category are you applying under?

Assuming you are under skilled worker (federal), then it's incredibly fast as the CIC website says average processing time is 13-25 months?

Hi SubatomicBionicNanoMan

Congrats for your PPR.

I just want to know whether u live in canada, Do you use canada post envelope for getting your passport back?  Here I see people say bufallo no longer uses FEDEX.  Please share your information.

Thanks,
Ramya

I live in the US. H1B status.
I received a "Gray Envelope" through which to submit the documents.
Applicants must use USPS Express Mail to send the Gray Envelope.

What band or score of IELTS' is considered good by the CIC immigration officer?

Thanks alba,

It did feel gr8! Anything above 7 in each category is considered good and will get you 16 points.
In fact I am sitting at the Buffalo airport typing that I have received my Single Entry Canadian Visa yesterday
at the Buffalo airport. I look forward to landing sometime before next year..

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

My timeline is pretty much the same. I got my medical done in Feb and sent other documents (PCC (FBI+PAK), Proof of funds, Experience Letters) on 5th March 2008.

So far haven't heard anything from CIC Buffalo. I am happy for you and this gives me hope to stay positive.

Congrats!...that was fast!!
Two questions, did you have a job offer from an employer in Canada?...
Also, general question...what makes the difference that some applications are processed faster than others? would it be profession??...please advise!!

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi everyone!

I have few questions for "SubatomicBionicNanoMan" or anyone who has the information on them.
Do you need to submit the PCC (India and FBI) at the same time or when they ask for it? And how do you apply for interview waived? and what is AOR?

I m a newbie to this forum and have been thinking of applying for PRship to Canada for a while now.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You will get it soon. I heard it's a backlog if you apply for other counties than US. I got my passport request in an year, which is much quicker than i expected. I was asked to submit IELTS score in July (they give 3 months), but I submitted in Novemeber (I requested for addittional time). So I assume if I wouldnt have wasted the time for submitting my IELTS score, this would have been quicker.

ANYWAYS, GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!!
