I have received a letter from CIC at Singapore in July'07. They informed me that I have reached the pass mark 67. They expect to issue medical instruction next, perhaps in late 2007.

What does this letter mean? When they will issue the medical instruction? How long it will take to complete the total process? Is this letter is the final letter or final decision? Do I have to face an Interview or not?

I applied in April'04 and received my AOR May'04.

This letter is not a final decision, but it's a good sign.

As the letter says, they will give you instructions for getting your medical done "perhaps in late 2007."  They will send you a medical form, along with instructions for you and instructions for you to give to the doctor.

If they haven't said anything about the interview, then they're still considering it.  But even if they say they've waived it, they could change their minds.  So there's no way to know yet.

Your PR is not final until you've actually landed and they admit you to the country.

If the initial assessment has been competed then why they are taking more 6 months time to issue only a medical instruction?

About interview they told me that”If called to interview, you are expected to appear.”

Already 40 months have been passed and I am loosing my patience.

1.  It means they have done the initial assessment, they now will start the background/criminal records check.
2.  If nothing fishy turns up then an interview will not be required and then they will issue medical instructions.
3.  Losing your patience won't help.

What does the background / criminal records check consist of? Do they will check authenticity of all the documents I have provided? Will they check my previous and present employer? My educational certificates? My birth certificate? My bank accounts? etc.

Please advise me, what is my responsibility in this regards?

I received a similar letter from CHC, Singapore  in January 2007, telling me that my Medical Instructions will be issued to me sometime early 2008 !  So you are better off.  My AOR dates back to March 2004.  So you seem to be much better off than me.  I live in Thailand.  Where do you live.   The reasons for the delay is the back-log.  Call me at 66-81-3002006.

What!? You mean you live in Singapore and want to move to Canada?  My husband and I would love to move to Singapore cut can't because getting a visa is too hard.  Are you sure you know what you are doing, deekra (dear)?

Hi Raquibw

Can I know your application status? I think we have the same case, we applied on May 2004 and AOR received on June 2004. Received medical instructions on Nov 2007. We sent to CHC Singapore our Medical results on 30 Nov 2007 and Police clearances on Dec 2007 But, until now we haven't receive any letter from CIC yet. I always check the online status and it says In process - medical results had been received. By the way  my husband is the principal applicant and the dependents are me and our 2 year old daughter. I hope you can shed some lights on my query.

Thank you,

Abbey
