Hello all,

I am permanent canadian resident but I am living outside Canada because the sponsorship application for my wife got rejected and I had to accompany my wife. The rejection reason was my absence from the canadian soil during my sponsorship application processing (due to some personal reasons). I talked to some lawyers after the rejection and the only option left to me was to return to canada and reapply for my wife, and stay in Canada during the (re)processing of sponsorship application. That was not an option for me. Hence, I thought of forgetting about my existing PR card and apply anew for canadian immigration with my wife. I got my first PR card through Quebec immigration program and I am considering to apply through the same again. I've checked their site and I eligible to apply with my wife.
My questions: Can I reapply through the quebec program again? Does the possession of a valid PR card hinder in the reapplication procedure: I am ready to surrender my PR card if needed.

thanx a lot

Yes, you will have to voluntarily relinquish your present PR card, before an application will be processed.

thanx a lot... I consulted with a lawyer he told me that I'll have to relinquish the PR card once I get Quebec Selection Certificate. Can you please confirm this information?

thanx once more :-)
