Hi All,

Let me keep aside the refusal of CEC appliocation on failure to submit the employee reference letter.

I am going to reapply soon.

Can i get a template from this forum indicating all the items that need to be addressed to immigration by employer.

If i have a template, i can modify to my case and take of copy of it for signature and seal.

Can some one share.

Concerns to reapply: the refused application has NOC 2173 and mentioned as software engineer.

If my employer gives software test engineer instead software engineer in reference letter, can i change my NOC code in my new application or will this result in refusal..

Plzzz confirm..

Hey Bro that is the only way to Go..

Check your work permit first to find out your NOC code, what is the description there, 2173 is a regulated job in Canada  although it does not affect your documentation procedure, but choosing a right NOC definitely makes things easy.

I am also under the process of applying, I have come up with the template attached below...

if you see senior guys approving this on the forum then go with this, I will also use it

Your Address-----------

This will confirm that Mr.xxxxx has been employed by <COMPANY NAME> at <LOCATION>  as a temporary employee working full time 40 hours a week since <date xxxxxx.>
He works as a < >, his main duties include < xxxxxxx >

His current annual salary is -----------

Signature------ Date -----------

You do not need a template. Simply provide your employer with a copy of the document checklist which lists all what is required.

By the way, if you are re-applying so soon, does that mean you have re-written your IELTS test? If you haven't, your application may be rejected again.

http://www.cba.org/cba/cle/pdf/CraigN.pdf - refer to page 6 of 24. It says, "when equalizing test results, scores are rounded down not up. For example, if one of the test scores is 5.5, the CLB level is 5, not 6." Also, page 19 of 24.

Hi SenoritaBella,

What you pointed out is right. If ielts test score is 5.5 for one section, it will be rounded down to 5 and compares to the CLB level.

As CLB levels were defined for all my scores except reading 5.5. we can assume that score is rounded down to 5 and by doing so, my CLB level is 6 for reading.

NOC      CLB Level   Test result for each ability
         Speaking   Listening   Reading   Writing
0, A      8   6.5      7.5      6.5           6.5
0, A      7   6.0      6.0      6.0           6.0
0, A, B   6   5.5      5.5      5.0           5.5
B      5   5.0      5.0      4.0           5.0
B      4   4.0      4.5      3.5           4.0

As per this my CLB levels are:
   L - 7.5 - CLB level is 8
   S - 7.5 - CLB level is 8
R - 5.5 - CLB level is 6 (Assuming this is rounded down to score 5)
   L - 7.5 - CLB level is 8

Which are good enough for CEC application for skill level A i guess..

Can you share employee reference letter template if you have one.

Thanks,

Hey man there is no perfect template for reference letter, what i did was, i printed the document checklist ans where it says employment letter requirement i highlighted all that with a bold marker and handed it to my principal at work and he had a look at it and he forward it to the HR guy to create a letter exactly what CIC requires. You can get a really nice letter with professional layout and all that but if it doesn't meet CIC requirement than its still useless.

So, I suggest print docement checklist out and highlight where it details the employment letter requirement and hand it to your employer.

Don't worry, it is NOT regulated.  "Regulated" professions are those like doctors and nurses, or skilled trades that require an apprenticeship.

Do a search on NOC code directory for 2173 and u will have ur answer.

However as I understand you are a software engineer so you may not need Licensing.

Employment requirements

A bachelor's degree, usually in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering or mathematics
or
Completion of a college program in computer science is usually required.
A master's or doctoral degree in a related discipline may be required.
Licensing by a provincial or territorial association of professional engineers is required to approve engineering drawings and reports and to practise as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
Engineers are eligible for registration following graduation from an accredited educational program, three or four years of supervised work experience in engineering and passing a professional practice examination.
Experience as a computer programmer is usually required

No this is not a regulated job. If it was that would imply you have to have some sort of license to start working in your field, but you don't need any license. But don't confuse yourself with P.Eng certification, that is a license but it's not a requirement for your NOC code like Doctors or Registered nurses.

But yes P.Eng is a must have and will get you far along in your career, but not a requiremnt. I hope this should clear all your doubts.
