I became PR in 2001, stayed one month in canada & applied for SIN and OHIP card.
Later only once I visited in 2003 for a week but never have a PR card.
Since then I stayed outside Canada.
In 2006 I checked with agent about my case, he advised me to simply reapply for PR as I lost my PR status.
In 2007 I filed new application for PR and now waiting for medical papers.

I would like to know is there any thing like "Giveup/Surrender PR status"
OR
I have to inform about it to CIC or CHC of my country of residence before applying to new one...?

As I am now in the last stage of getting my PR, Please advice if anybody have same situation or knowledge about it as I want to avoid any further complications in the last stage.

Thanx.
