Hi Guys
We sent our application in June
I have an email from UPS that it was received on June 6th.
I can't log on to ecas. Nothing on ecas tracker.
Have called CIC and all they will tell me is they have received my file.
Its 6 months now
Its an inland application
I have been reading through the forum and everyone else seems to get some information on ecas
Should I be worried ?

Ecas is notoriously unreliable. I wouldn't worry. I think it's common for inland people not to hear anything until first stage approval, which I think is currently at 10-11 months. Hopefully someone who has gone through an inland app can weigh in on this too. Smiley I wouldn't worry though, long as they say they have your file.

First stage approval is now 11-12 months. See:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

You won't hear anything from CIC until then.

So nothing to worry about! What you're experiencing is normal.

Thanks Guys
I have been checking the process times weekly ( well, daily if I'm being honest...lol )
I just got worried because from reading through the forums, people who applied inland after me can log in to ecas. I can't even log in.
I just need to be patient I guess.

No worries e-cas is completely unreliable anyways. If anything changes in your application, you will hear about it before e-cas is updated.

No need to waste time checking e-cas daily, manually. Sign up for e-cas tracker (Google it, should be first link) and enter all your and your sponsor's information; it should email you when it is able to log in and going forward when there are updates.

Do you have a confirmation (via tracking/signature) that the application was picked up in Vegreville? That is a lot of peace of mind by itself. Unfortunately, inland just takes 4-5 times longer for the first stage than outland (currently about two months, but even with outland, people do not hear anything from CIC until they receive sponsorship approval).

Thanks Guys

Hi
Yes, I have the receipt saying it was delivered, so I guess I will just be patient and wait.

I'd like to add that even alot of us outland applicants couldn't log in until after we'd got sponsorship approval. They say you can use your receipt but it's never worked for me, or in fact anyone else I've seen try for Sponsored Permanent Residency. When you get your approval, you'll get issued a file number (applicant) and from then ECAS should be accessible, but as others have said it's not very reliable, and never seems to give much information.

Good luck!
