Dear friends

In the application guide, page 17, it is stated that:
" All applicants must submit police certificates/clearances to the CIO as part of the application process."
But it vary from VO to another; as each VO decide the time of PC, either with the application or later on with medicals.
cheers
[ Thanks for your post. Actually the VO do update the  information regarding documents needed for PR. Not as quickly as they should but they do update. We need to keep checking our updated VO informations on regular basis. In my case I missed teh updated information thus followed old version of VO checklist and send PCCs. No harm though but unnecessary time loss in busy daily life.
Good luck to all of you.]

This tip to match all the application with latest versions prior to its submission is something many fellows may have neglected including me.

I expect to make submission next week and now 1 day before my submission, I'd download all applications once again from CIC to ascertain whether or not I've used latest application forms including of my local VO.

Thanks for this tip.....it was the last thing in my mind.

I would  like to share another mistake which cost me some extra time and money. In FW general guide booklet  the mailing added was wrong. Recently they updated. I dowloded the  booklet about 2 month ago and was following it withinout checking the latest one. I end up sending my application package to wrong address ( I sent EMS to regular mail address. i.e. PO BOX address). But Within 10 hours of sending I realized it ( PO BOX should not be for express mailing) and called to my EMS service to stop it. I was luckly it was in Narita Airport Tokyo. Everybody prays for their EMS to  reach as early as possible but at that time I was praying opposite  Grin.  It took 4 days to resend to me and cost extra money to send it again after correcting the  address from new updated booklet also changed schedule-3 form since it also updated recently.

So folks some of us like me, may not differenciate regular mailing address or express service address thus send the  application to the wrong address. Plus I was too lazy to follow 2 months old guide booklet.

I know you are all well aware of mailing address. Just to remind you as a friend to be vigilant.

Wish you all the best.

I guess this time, all applications send via EMS will go to PO BOX 7500 (I mean applications with a NOC code)

Am I right in my understanding?

 Hi mr_rana
Actually EMS should not go to PO BOX address. PO BOX is for regular mail.
 Address of EMS is below:

Citizenship & Immigration Canada
      Federal Skilled Worker
     Centralized Intake Office
    Attn.: SW1 - NOC # _ _ _ _
        196 George Street
            Sydney, NS
              B1P 1J3
              Canada

But It's better for you to check it by yourself. Please go to cic website and check out the  latest guide booklet for Federal Skiller worker.
 http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp
You will find teh pdb version of guide  just above the  application forms.
Thanks.

2. Please download ALL the forms and guides as of today(everyday) and then start working on it.  PCCs are not required by CIO, if our application passes thro CIO, we will have to submit it to the VO. Please ensure your checklists will not have a place to indicate PCCs as an application just returned for a minor mistake of using the older version of the checklist where they had a space to check about PCC status.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

I seriously doubt an application will be returned if people have included the police certificate. Worst case scenario should be that they have to get fresh certificates when asked by visa office.

Around half the post June 26 applicants on this forum have submitted their PCCs since many visa offices did not update their checklist until after people had sent their applications. We sent our PCC since London office did not update their checklist until 30th August, and we mailed our application on 23rd August, so the checklist on the day we mailed it was correct.

Can you link your source which says that someone's application was failed for including a police certificate?

Thanks,
Wayne.

Hi Wayne,

I'm sorry that my answer was not clear enough  Sad

I said the application was returned not for including PCCs, but using an OLD version of the checklist which had an indication that PCCs are mandatory(so, it had a box to check to indicate if it is included). The applicant applied without PCCs,and so he/she did not check that box as PCC was not required to submit to the CIO when the rules changed. The thing is the officer/clerk who checked for completeness of the application, saw that PCCs are mandatory in the VO checklist and then saw it was neither checked nor included, so the application came back Huh Huh. They did not care to notice that the applicant had used an old version of the checklist and that PCCs are not mandatory now.

They are so over sighted that they just look for if ALL the boxes are checked and ALL the forms checked are included Lips sealed Lips sealed

So, i advised people to double check they use the updated forms and guides before they send out the application.

Dear all,

I was about to send my application according to the documents sequence of the checklist of CIO, then I came also across the checklist of London visa office which indicated a totally different sequence of documents. one example is, ICO asks for payment form as number 6, while London ask for it as the last documents. Both of these check lists ask to arrange the forms and documents according to and as indicated in their lists and to put their checklist as a cover page. This only confuse the applicant about which chick list to use as a cover page and follow the list.

Not only that but also, CIO asks for copy of principal applicant only, while London asks for the spouse and the children as well.

I thought of taking your opinion about the documents arrangement before I submit my application.

Kind regards

Ah ok that makes sense now, my apologies!

Yes, this is the main reason we included our PCC even though the CIC website said not to include them - since you cannot be rejected for including a document they have not asked for, but you can certainly be rejected for failing to include something they have!

So since London had not updated their checklist at that point, we figured we'd better be safe than sorry and include the PCC (since we'd already paid to obtain it before CIC changed their website).

But that's good advice - on the evening before you are sending your application get the latest copy of ALL the forms from the website and ensure that you have the correctly dated forms. Like a day before we were sending our application we noticed an updated version of the Economic Class form with the preference order of work experience, so re-did those.

Wayne.

Guys,
just keep an eye on the application forms if they change..!!

It'd be a great help to those who are the final stage of their submission.
I hope the forms are same at least since last 2-3 months.

Just be watchful~
