I came across some fellows who made minor mistakes which resulted in either re-submission or even rejection of application.

I'd like members to share such small errors and their possible remedies to guide all prospective applicants.
It's also a sort of final check-list to avoid cost and efforts if re-submission(s).

Some of those in my information are:

1. A part left blank in the application, resulted in application returned back.
Remedy: Filled N/A and re-submitted.

2. Credit expiry less than 9 months..!! (Payment thr'u  credit card)

I read a couple of cases like this and this info is very important for people who are going to submit their applications Smiley Good job!

1. Do not submit the IMM 5476, unless you are using a representative for your application.

2. Please download ALL the forms and guides as of today(everyday) and then start working on it.  PCCs are not required by CIO, if our application passes thro CIO, we will have to submit it to the VO. Please ensure your checklists will not have a place to indicate PCCs as an application just returned for a minor mistake of using the older version of the checklist where they had a space to check about PCC status.

3. Do not leave any section/question blank in the application forms. Write/Print N/A if there is no answer.

4. Include ALL required documents and ensure you check all appropriate boxes in both the CIO and the VO checklists.

I will keep adding info as and when i come across them Smiley

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Hi Mr. Rana,

I suggest you changing the name of the thread to something very catchy, else risk this being buried among other posts.

something like ' READ THIS BEFORE SENDING YOUR APPLICATIONS - DOs & DONTs POST 26 June 2010'

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

My VO in Tokyo saying in the visa office specific guide that  PCC must be included. I emailed to them and they also adviced me to send PCC with the  application package. I never come up with anythign in visa office specific form as well as general guide book saying PCC will be requested later by VO. Please advice.

Hi EnvioZa,

Great that you came to this page and asked this question. I just downloaded Tokyo VO specific form and checked the PCC section.

Page 7: sec 12:

POLICE CERTIFICATES AND CLEARANCES
Please consult our Web site for specific and up-to-date information on how to obtain police certificates from any country
Note: For applications submitted at the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) prior to June 26, 2010, you must submit police certificates with your complete application and supporting documents to the visa office within the 120 day deadline set out by the CIO.

If you are submitting your application to the CIO on or after June 26, 2010, the police certificates are not required with your complete application to the CIO. If your application is placed into processing you will be required to provide police certificates to the visa office at a later date.If you are submitting your application to the CIO on or after June 26, 2010, the police certificates are not required with your complete application to the CIO. If your application is placed into processing you will be required to provide police certificates to the visa office at a later date.

That pretty much clears that PCCs are not required now and they will be asked when your application is placed into processing Smiley

Relax and prepare the application and send it fast dear Smiley

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Hi EnvioZa,

BTW, i assumed that you have not yet applied and you are planning to send in the application POST JUNE 26.

Strange that the Tokyo VO replied to you that you will have to send the PCC to CIO, when CIO checklist and VO checklist says DO NOT send it now Wink

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Wow! I was expecting the uptake to be more than this already. This is good news for those of us still preparing our applications for submission. I have always suspected that it might be a tall order to fill the 1000 position in some of the category

It's seems the panic button has been pressed for NOC 1122 applications........as it was expected from the very beginning.

Guys.....it'd be a matter of few weeks to meet its max. capacity of 1000.

so set your sails following the wind.

Is there any column in any of the applications where it needs to mention the total score of the application like 78..81..90 etc.?

Its just a cross check to avoid any mistake due to negligence.

To all prospective applicants,

Before we received our first aor just this week, our application was one of those initially returned back because of some missing information. just a few but important mistakes (maybe from excitement on our part) Huh so i have some tips for those who are filling out the forms and about to send your applications.

1. Download and use the pdf guide step by step as you are filling out the forms;http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp. I know its a hassle but there are some specific instructions that can help you while putting in information(e.g. putting in N/A rather than leaving it blank)
2. Since forms are always updated, always use and download the forms fresh from the website. I discourage using forms you have downloaded and saved before. (Just a precaution, as they return forms that are not updated)
3. Double-check all information before entering it and printing. What I did was I printed out the form and flled it manually first.
4. Ensure that all the information you have entered in the forms can be supported by documentation/notes. Be prepared to provide additional info should CIC require it.
5. Triple check your documents before you send it. Dont be to hasty(like me) to send it off. Let someone who did not prepare the documents(like wife/husband/brother) check the documents as sometimes if you prepared everything you tend to overlook some important details.
6.If there are some details in your application which you feel need further explanation and no space is provided in the forms, don't hesitate to include a cover letter to highlight the points.
7. Names to indicate in the forms should be as per passport.

I can't think of anymore tips, but I hope the above can help those who are still trying to compile their documents. If you have any doubts always check the guide or CIC website, I feel that all the information you need is pretty much there. Just be patient in scanning the pages.

There are a lot of us who can help you guys here. goodluck!

Dear friends

In the application guide, page 17, it is stated that:
" All applicants must submit police certificates/clearances to the CIO as part of the application process."
But it vary from VO to another; as each VO decide the time of PC, either with the application or later on with medicals.
cheers
