Quick question re: Police Certificates...

Howdy Everyone,

  Quick question, my soon to be spouse will be returning to the Philippines, in a few weeks, where she will get her Cenomar, Medical, And police reports done, but she has spent the last year in Canada.

  Do we need to also get a police report for her from the RCMP, for the time she has been here in Canada?

BUT, when it comes to Canada, you don't normally have to get an RCMP police check done. It's rare and normally only done if the visa office asks for it. See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/canada.asp.

You could get one done just in case if you're really concerned, but most will tell you what CIC tells you, i.e. don't bother unless asked.

Agreed.

I asked CIC the same question when I filed, they said if they needed a police check done for the time spent in Canada they'd do it themselves.
