Hi,

We plan to landing at Toronto this June. We would prefer landing by air. However, we have a silly question about coming back to US by air. I know if one get back to US by driving, then the custom is at the check point near the rainbow bridge. However, if we get back by air, where is the check point?

Our concern is that if we need to get to city like Chicago, and if the AVR were denied by the custom at Chicago, do we need to get back to Toronto to apply for visa?

I know this questions sounds silly, but we really need some guidance here. Thank you very much for your help!

After your first landing and left, if you want re enter Canada without valid PR card, you can apply a travel document from the local embassy of Canada.
