Dear All,

I applied at CPC Missassauga to sponsor my wife 2 months ago. I am still awaiting AOR and for file to be transferred to Islamabad.

I want to apply for my wife's TRV. Do you recommend waiting for AOR before applying, or do you think it's ok to apply now for TRV?

Regards,

 @  Irsum

Sounds like everything went smooth, thats great mA. Very good to hear, I was wondering how the questioning might have been at YYZ.

 @ ImigratingCanada2011

I also applied for my wife 2 months ago, but since I want my wife to visit me in the summer vacations, I submitted the TRV application without the AOR. I did however attach the CanadaPost receipt for the sponsorship package and the tracking information from the canadapost website which shows that the application has been received in the mississauga office.
Speaking to some lawyers, I have been given confidence that it is perfectly alright to apply, as long as you state that the spouse sponsorship application has started from your end.

Hey babbi

Do let us know when you get a response from the embassy. My wife's TRV application was received by the high commission on May 3rd. I think our applications  roughly have the same timeline.

Hey Babbi,

If your husband wants to visit you for any period of time, it will not effect your application.
Anyways, the next time you receive any correspondence will be when your application is being transferred to ISB and then when they do the initial review, a year from then. If anything, the fact that your husband is spending a whole month with you strengthens your case, I would keep pictures, receipts, airline bookings, boarding passes, etc during this month and send it to them at a later date when/if they request any additional proofs of your marriage.

From my friends who have received approvals from CPC Mississauga recently, what I know is that CPC Mississauga usually just sends an email stating that the sponsor has been approved and now the application is being sent to ISB. They require no further documents at this point. So the AOR will definitely not be affected in any way if your husband is with you in Pakistan.

I would just tell your husband to keep looking out for the AOR in the mailbox(sometimes it is flagged as jonk) just to have a peace of mind and confirmation that the application has indeed been sent to ISB.

Furthermore, if you are worried that your husband being outside of the country while the AOR is dispatched will negatively impact your application, there is no requirement for the sponsor to be in the country at any point in time throughout the processing timeline. (except possibly when you are travelling to Canada after you receive your VISA)

A colleague of mine recently received his AOR while he was on his honeymoon in the maldives. The travel patterns of the sponsor have absolutely no effect on the processing, and are franky none of Immigration Canada's concerns.

From my understanding you should expect the AOR 90 days from the date your application package was received in Mississauga. AOR/Approval letter are synonymous. From my understanding, your acknowledgement of receipt (AOR) from the ISB office also contains information stating that the sponsor has been approved and states that your application is now in the ISB office.

Once received in the ISB office, you wait for 9-10 months for the initial review/remed requests etc

If anyone sees that I am incorrectly stating something, please do correct me.
