HI all
I had my H1 visa stamp from company A till 30 th of  Sep2009 i came here in 2007 march ..my company A started CompanyB In 2007 .and transfered my H1 to Company B so i got my I797 till Sep 2010 so am i eligible to apply will they be looking at visa or else the work permit becos if i apply now i gues my vis will be expired but i have I 797 i.e work permit till 2010

yes, you would be eligible since you have a valid I-797. H1B visa is mainly used for entry purposes in the US.
