Hi there,

I am trying to complete the Generic Application and having trouble with a few questions.  Can anybody please help me out?

I am a US citizen currently living in Canada on a work permit.

Question #10 - Current country of residence.

My current work permit expires June '12, and I applied for a new work permit last week.  What do I put in the "To" field on questions #10?  The expiry of my current work permit?  I am concerned that when my application is reviewed it may be after the expiry date.

National Identity Document

Do US citizens have a National Identity Document?  I phoned the CIC call centre, and the lady suggested I use my driver's license.  However, the electronic form will not accept the DL number as it contains special characters.

Number of Years of education

I completed High School and then obtained a Bachelor of Arts - It took me 5 years to complete the program.  Do I put 17 years in the Number of years of education in total?

Thank you!
