Hi,

I am preparing to apply for my PR under CEC this month.I am in the process of gathering all the required documents. I have the following questions in the application form. Can anyone please help me.

Application Form

Q.No 4: Immigration office requested for processing this application.
Since Jan 2011 all the applications should be sent to CIO Sydney. So I am not sure which visa office should I enter here. I reside in Alberta. So should I mention Los Angeles?

Q.No 10: Current Status in Canada.

I am a worker and I first came to Canada on 16 Nov 2007. I have made several vists since then. I recently renewed my WP from 3 -Nov-2011 to 3-Nov-2012.So I am confused which date I should enter in the "From Date". Should it be the first day I entered Canada?

Education/Occupation Section

Q.No 4: Intended Occupation.

Can Intended Occupation and Current Occupation be the same?

Dependants.

I am married and living with my husband.I am including my husband as my dependant.I was wondering if my parents and unmarried sister should also be included as family members even though they would not accompany me to Canada.

Schedule-A

Q.No 7 : Under Education  where we provide full details of secondary and post secondary information. Is it sufficient if we include 10th and 12th grade under secondary section.

Thanks in advance

This information is in the instruction guide -
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5609ETOC.asp

You can select the visa office serving your country of citizenship and/or current residence.  If you have been legally admitted to Canada for at least one year, you can submit to the Visa Office serving Canada (Buffalo) - or the visa office serving your country of citizenship - you can look that up here (the link to this information is also in the instruction guide).

Q.No 10: Current Status in Canada.

A "visit" to Canada is not the same as living and working in Canada, so I'm not sure what you mean.  I think you 'll have to clarify the situation...

Education/Occupation Section

Q.No 4: Intended Occupation.

Can Intended Occupation and Current Occupation be the same?

Yes - that's ideal.

Dependants.

I am married and living with my husband.I am including my husband as my dependant.I was wondering if my parents and unmarried sister should also be included as family members even though they would not accompany me to Canada.

See the definitions of Family Members in the Instruction Guide.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5609ETOC.asp

A "dependent" is a child, cannot be your spouse.
Your parents and sister are not in this definition of "family member" and cannot be included as part of the application.  You do have to provide their information on Form 5406, Additional Family Information.

Schedule-A

Q.No 7 : Under Education  where we provide full details of secondary and post secondary information. Is it sufficient if we include 10th and 12th grade under secondary section.

But not 11th?  Smiley

If "Secondary" is grades 10-12 in your country, then it's OK.  In the US, it's usually 9th-12th (even if there is a middle school/junior high school).

Hi Jes_ON,

Thanks for your reply.

I would like to clarify  for "Q.No 10: Current Status in Canada" above. I first came to Canada on 16 Nov 2007 , I worked for 6 months and went back to my country for WP renewal and came back for another 6 months. I also worked in Canada for 2 months in 2009 and came back again in March 2010. I am working here since then. So I am confused as to which date should I put in the "From" section.

Appreciate your help

To further clarify Q4, see below, under "Canada (for temporary lawful resident only)":

cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp Canada

For Q10, if you've been working since March 2010, then I will say

"from" = date of hire in March 2010
"To" = Present (if you still work there).

You will be submitting a copy of your most recent work permit and with your client ID, they can access previous records.

When you complete Schedule A Background/Declaration and Schedule 8 as well as include the letters of reference from employers, they can go into the system and verify that you had the proper work authorization during the periods of work.
