Hi everyone! I'm a Swiss citizen and I'm going to Canada for the first time to visit for my vacation and I have a few questions that I need help with..

1) Is 5000 swiss francs enough if I'm going to be staying for 6 months? ( I will be living in a friends apartment)

2) Do I need a hotel reservation even though I already have some that I can stay with.

3) Would the immigration/customs consdier that if I ran out of money during my stay that my aunt sends me the money through western Union.

4) I'm taking 1 SEROQUEL 25 mg per night to help me sleep(not bipolar lol), do I need a doctors note to show customs?

I need to know because I'm already going to buy my plane ticket and I'm thinking of making my return trip after 6 months any advice please and thanks..

Btw I'm going to be attending a marriage too.

But you are not likely to need it in Canada, you can get real tired with all the things you can do here.

1) Depends on what you want to do and how you live. It is not a lot for six months IMO.

2) No.

3) They may, but no guarantee.

4) carry the prescription, it makes life easier.

Carry the wedding invitation.

Even though you are from a visa exempt country you need to prove you will return home.

Thanks for the reply Baloo.

1) I ask about the amount because maybe customs would say my money isnt enough and would deny me entry.

2) Even if I'm going to be staying with a single female? Someone told me that customs would be alarmed by this.

3) Same as no. 1

4) I have prescriptions from before too, do I bring them all or just the latest? lol

I am going to bring the wedding invitation.

Yes my ticket is roundtrip but I'm wondering if i should make the return date 6 months after or do I need to stay at a shorter time because I'm only carrying 5000 cash on me.

Thanks in advance. Smiley

2) yes even when staying with someone.
Customs are not likely to be alarmed by this.

If you are worried about the amount of money and asking for a long stay, you could purchase a ticket that can be modified (at a cost), buy a three month return flight.
Then when you are granted entry, if you would like to stay longer then apply for an extension, if you need more cash then it could be sent to you.
It is not illegal to change your mind when in Canada, just don't lie to immigration.

I normally bring the prescription that covers all that I am carrying. 100 pills = prescriptions for at least 100 pills.
