In PPR letter VO has asked me for Proof of funds(POF). according to letter "funds should be transferable and convertible currency for settlement in Canada
Funds should be in applicants bank account in a known financial institution in western Europe and north America

current bank slip or
evidence of savings balance or
fixed or time deposit statements"

Please tell how much amount is needed for a couple and should it be in Can dollar?
US dollar can be used instead?

Please guide in this regards

Minimum CAD - 13,837  or  above as much as possible for settlement.

US dollar equivalent to that day's exchange rate conversion,  or more.

or something else as proof of funds?

Updated  Proof of funds when asked is to be submitted to visa office  as required : "current bank slip or
evidence of savings balance or fixed or time deposit statements" accordingly.

Bank draft, TC or Cash is POF while landing after issuance of PR visa.

If your account is in a  government recognized bank or financial institution in your country,  that would be fine. No need to open a new account  as mentioned.

I'd advice you to show more than $40,000 to be in the safe side.
With weaker EURO in EU and fragile economy in Canada, VO's are not comfortable with the said amount as listen in CIC's site
