hello, iam posting this for my friend,
he recived a letter today from the embassy for the interview date and they only asked from him to bring :

-original AND valid passport
-have your sponsor pat the fees for PR at M-CPC

shud he be happy? Tongue

since they only asked for a valid passport and the fees to be paid?
oh! and they didnt say : requesting the passport doesnt mean a visa will be issued or that they would repay him the fees if the visa is not issued!

Hi Boujasim,

That is great news but your friend has nothing to lose if he brings or provide more documents even if they don't ask just in case if he is questioned.
Best of luck and let us know how it went.

Hey Boujasim, i guess like Marlena said, tell him to take new proof with him, since he filed the application, so he will have a solid proof in his hands.
Is he going to damascus or in lebanon, since they have started to receive immigration application in Lebanon.
in your opinion, do you think that when they ask for PRF to be paid and they don't mention that it might be refund, is a positive sign?

Rorita since when did they started receiving application in Lebanon.
On the letter they sent me last week they had indication that my application was sent to Damascus for the PR.
Did you meant if an interview is required they will sent an IO to Beirut, Lebanon.

On the official site of the canadian embassy in lebanon, they said that they have started receiving immigration application in lebanon since March -31-2009.
So I guess for the old file, already sent to damascus , they will stay there.
concerning the interview, I guess since before they started receiving application in lebanon, they used to give the option for the lebanese if they want there interview to be held in lebanon or damscus, specialy for the man, cause you know, to be fair 40% of the christian lebanese man can't go to syria..Smiley..
if they choose lebanon, an officer from the damscus office will come tolebanon.

I'm going to Lebanon in September to visit my husband and staying for 6 weeks. I already bought the ticket but do you think i should send him a copy of my ticket so he can included if an interview is requested. There a lot of additional documents that I can provide since I sent my application but the problem I have no clue how long it will take. I'm just hoping I'll be there before his interview.

Strange tho Marlena that they didn't pass that news around in News Brief to your Customs office.

There is a huge ADVERTISEMENT on the CIC Website when you first go to cic.gc.ca, it shows that Consular Services have been expanded in Lebanon. You can't miss it, it's on the top of the page, clicking it brings you to an expanded page about the opening etc... - it's been up since I have been checking our case in late March.

Rasha according to the letter I received last week they just transfer my file to Damascus and that's why it was strange.
Why I said it's a good news because if it didn't go well during the interview they keep all documents for the appeal process so they have to send back everything to Canada.

Yah that is strange, maybe coz they are right in the middle of the transition that yours went to Damascus, and now others are going to Beirut...I guess they had to establish a certain date for cut off, so some files went one place, while others went to the new one.

How long did it take you to receive the letter from the actual date of the letter?

Sorry to tell you, but after most interviews they return all your "stuff". My husband was given all our pictures, emails, etc back after his interview and he was refused. He was also asked to bring his PP to the interview.

I am only tell you all this to prepare you for the worst. We had our hopes up when we recieved the interview notice thinking that everything was a done deal only to have them crushed.
