My financee and I are to be married in his country in a couple of months. Due to concers for security in his country, my family and friends will not be joining me. We were planning on having a reception when he finally gets here. The ceremony we have planned is extremely and romantic and personal, which is what we prefer as we are not religious......but I have concerns that this will look bad in the eyes of immigration.

Even though this type of ceremony is our preference.....I have the idea in the back of my head that this will hurt our chances.

Your thoughts are most appreciated.

CIC does not care about whether or not your wedding is a religious ceremony.

Married Sept '06 after 4 yr LDR.  Applied via outland ap in March 2007 -  refused Jan '08 due to inadmissible adult "dependent child".  Appeal filed Jan '08; still waiting for resolution.
