Hi all,

I'm here in Vancouver on a 1 year work visa and as it expires in a couple of months I'm looking into different options to stay here as I love it here. If I was to get a job under the low-skill pilot project (e.g. janitor or food server) and work in it for 2 years does that in any way qualify me for applying for permanent residency as I would then be in Canada for a period of 3 years. I've looked at the CIC Canada website but can't figure this out.

Also, for applying for a work permit for one of these jobs, do I need work experience in one of these areas to qualify me (e.g. commerical janitor)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
