My hubby is here on a visitors visa, as we have an inland application on the go

If we decide to withdraw it and apply again outland (due to processing times) Can he still remain here on his visa ? (It's good until August) or does he have to go back to New Zealand to get medical exams etc and submit to Sydney from there? Or can we do it all while in Canada?

Medical can be done in Canada.

His visa should still be fine, unless there's something you're not telling us.

While it is a little less usual to do medical exams in Canada for an outland application, lots of people do it. We did. There's no reason he can't remain here.

If they have already started processing his inland application when you withdraw, you will lose the porcessing fees you paid. (You'll still get back the RPRF if you already paid that.)

I'm from Wisconsin, and had my medical done in Vancouver.  It was only $150 there and it would have been almost $450 here.  So I spent the $250 on a flight to see my husband and have my medical done at the same time.  Worked swell.

No his visa is perfectly fine, he's on a visitor visa, and keeps renewing it with no issues. We're just thinking we should maybe do the outland application cuz the time is about 18 months faster than inland - we bought a house and want to get moving on kids, but I don't want to until we can find out if he can stay here or I have to move to NZ ... if you know what I mean? I have had it suggested to me a few times here to withdraw it and reapply outland, now just concidering it, so need to ask some Q's first

Pharoa! where are you! lol
