Hi there, I live on a border town(im on the Canadian side of the falls and my soon to be husband lives on the American side) we are getting married next year and I am going to sponsor him, but he is going to live in the US while we do this process...my question is, once hes gets approved**fingers crossed** can he keep his job in the US and just commute back and forth??? I know if he crosses to much now they give problems, but once he has papers can he live here but work there?? thanks Kerri  Smiley

once he gets his Permanent residence status he can live wherever he chooses. In order to keep his status as Permanent resident though, he needs to live in Canada for a minimum number of years on average (two out of five). See here for more: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/about-pr.asp
