Hi all,

I need your kind help regarding Saskatchewan Nominee Program. Currently i am working in Work permit and my wife has a open work permit as dependent on me. She got a permanent job and 9 months of experience. My employer is not willing to support me for SINP, but my wife's employer had agreed. We had submitted our file under existing WP category , where i am as spouse (dependent) along with my son.

My question is, if she got the nomination and apply for a Temporary work permit as her own, what will happen to my work permit? Currently my work permit is specific to my current employer. Will it be null and void that time? if i will apply for a open work permit as dependent, whether i will able to continue my current job during the gap in between?

Appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

Nothing should happen to your Permit (regardless of your wife's situation, It was awarded to you and is in your name. However, should you wish to apply for an extension to your permit, your employer will have to go through the process of getting another  LMO to enable you to apply for the extension. (LMO's are getting harder to get these days)

However, if you have an SINP nomination, the SINP provide documentation to support a further TWP extension without having to get another LMO.

Camaleon and JGK,

Thanks for your response. I went through the whole application guide and no where it mentioned clearly regarding Open work permit. Under eligibility of existing work permit it mentioned that LMO is not required for Open work permit. But, giving a deep drive and gone through the FAQ, I saw it mentioned open work permit needs to apply under Skilled worker.

Can any one suggest me what the next step to amend the application is? Will it impact any timeline or decision? I already got a file no#.

Appreciate your help

Hi all,

I got nominated under SINP in Jan 2011 and had sent my fed. application to Buffalo on March 1st 2011. I am currently on a post graduate work permit and recently got admission into U of Toronto for Fall 2011. I am confused if i need to apply for a new 'Study Permit' and if i have to, will my existing post-grad work permit be cancelled? Not sure what is my best way out. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks

Hi sunnyray90! Just wanna ask a few questions regarding your SINP application. It just took a day for you to receive your file number? How about the nomination cert? and the processing times of Sask Government and CIC? Thanks! My hubby who holds a closed work permit under the skilled cat will be applying for SINP-Existing Work Permit once he has completed the required experience of at least 6 mos. Hope you can guide us this. Thank you...
