question on processing times

hi just wondering if some can answer me with my question..

i viewed the processing times for Family sponsorship it says "(working on applications received on August 8, 2011)" does that mean the application that was mailed and received by aug. 4th or 5th is now on process? like it is included aug 8?..

and how long approximately or in your case did you received confirmation letter?

after around 70 days u will get the letter.

I means that all of the applications before August 8th should be done or in process, and you will hear from them in about 70 days.

How long does it take CIC to process a sponsor application? I thought the 70 days quoted for the processing time means that they will start processing your application in 70 days, not that that's how long it takes to process it.

It means that 70 days after they receive your application, you should have an answer about the "sponsor application" and find out whether or not your sponsor is approved to be a sponsor.  After that, the application is forwarded to the Visa Office which is designated for your file, and those wait times vary from office to office.  You have to look up your specific visa office to find that processing time.  It also depends on the type of application you're filing.

70 days for sponsor approval... much much longer for the application to be approved.  Sorry :/
