If British Bulldog were born outside of Canada after 15 February 1977, but had a Canadian parent at the time of birth, then British Bulldog is automatically a Canadian citizen by descent. I might have this wrong, but if your parents are Canadian citizens, doesnt that make you a Canadian citizen by birth? or am I just confused  |

You know, if we didn't dot an 'i' or cross a 't' they'd soon flirt papers back to us, but when it comes to their cock-ups, we're now stuck and can't do much of anything because they don't give you any way of contacting them. |

Yeah, tell me about it. Just when you thought you were done with dealing with their shenanigans, they do something else to mess up your plans. I would seriously consider contacting your MP. Not only are the VOs required to respond to ministerial requests (and do usually within a week), but you'll be bringing this issue to the attention of your representative and showing the visa office that you're seriously concerned about your dependent landing in Canada when her legal status in the country is incorrectly noted, particarly because you don't want to be held responsible for any misrepresentation that you may be accused of later on. Hi guys, Okay, I just wanted to update you all on what's happening here. My partner in the UK emailed London on the email address provided by hsbalouch (thanks for that!) this morning and he checked his email this evening and they had responded. They apologised for the error on their part and asked us to send the COPR papers back for cancellation and a new copy for both my partner and our daughter should reach us this week. So at least we know what to do now and someone is aware of our situation. Thank you all for your help and advice!  |
