Question for seniors

Hi Seniors,

My nephew got his PR on Sept. 25, 2005, he left Canada on Jan 6, 2006 returned on March 27, 2006, left again on Sept 17, 2007 (1 or 2 days in USA just for short visit shopping etc. before Sept 17/07) and will come back again some time in March 2010. He will sponsor his wife and a baby. Will he have to complete 80 days (which is the remaining time to complete for 2 year) and sponsor his wife and leave again or he must stay another 2 year straight or until his family came to Canada? 1.  It is a rolling 5 year period, he must spend 2 years in Canada in every 5 year period.  As a PR he must remain in Canada while sponsoring his family.

Thanks PMM, he was thinking to just top up 80 something days and complete 2 yr and then leave. It means the previous years he lived in Canada does not count and counter will restart when he comes back and remain in Canada until his family arrived here. Right?

Every time that he arrives at the Port of Entry, they should count back 5 years to see if he has 2 years residence.  A Pr has to remain in Canada during a sponsorship.
