Question about VISITORS EXTENSION so we can apply for PARTNERSHIP!!! URGENT!

I am a Croatian citizen (there for I did not need to apply for a visa prior to coming to Canada) I came Sept 25th 2011,applied for an extension in January,and got granted till July 31st,so I am on my 1nd extension. I am gonna apply for the second one asking for another 6 months (so till Januray 31st 2013),reason I am doing this is so I could get COMMON LAW with my boyfriend (October 1st) and then apply for PARTNERSHIP.
1 question is did anyone do this before (applied for an extension in order to be able to apply for a partnership since we have to have a full year of living together which will be on October 1st this year)
Question I have is....knowing that if my extension is approved I am a visitor on a single entry visa (and that does not change when I apply for partnership) if I leave Canada in December (for about 3-4 weeks,to go and visit my family) will I be able to come back to Canada without problems??
Considering I have partnership visa in process,I have a visitors visa that is still not expired (even though it wont be valid once I leave) and my Canadian boyfriend by my side.

I guess other angle of this question could be if I am on visitors ,with a Partnership in process can I leave Canada for a short visit back home and then re enter Canada and be granted a visa (I would guess I would be granted a visitors one) if no...DOES anyone KNOW what KIND OF VISA they would give me considering everything I just said.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Yes you can apply for another extension. you will have to met all requirements to re-enter, once you leave Canada. There is no visa for visa exempt countries. The thing is you will be common law in October so, if by December you have all the information filled out and documents together pay the fee and send in your app (file out-land so you can freely cross, inland you must stay see page below) that will give you a PR fee receipt and send your app by courier you will have receipt that app has been mailed. This way when crossing back over your showing them that you intend to do everything legally. They will see you crossed before an applied for extension and have now filed for PR.

Leaving Canada can automatically cancel temporary resident status as a visitor, student or worker.

I have asked before but isn't common law very tricky to be accepted?

Also when you applied for the 6 month extension I assume you didn't say it's so you could live together for 12 months and apply for common law, what reasons were you giving.

Just interested, I'm in the same boat as you though currently back in my home country, intend to get married and apply via spousal sponsorship.

common law is not that tricky ... conjugal partnership is the one that almost never gets approved. I have read that only 1% of conjugal partnership get approved. I personally wouldn't use common-law status, Lola didn't for her first extension as she is asking now I'm sure there is someone here with experience on that tho

I see, oh perhaps I should of tried to stay 12 months recently and go for common law as had all ready been granted the 9 months, though we do want to get married. I just thought it was quite difficult and not as simple as living together for 12 months.
