I have seen some sample papers and it seems that there are 4 possibilities for the writing part of IELTS (for the General Training exam) and you end up getting 2 of these: 1) A Letter (based on a situation) 2) A descriptive essay (based on a given subject or topic) 3) A descriptive essay (based on 2 charts; usually a bar chart and a line chart) 4) A argumentative essay Request to all who have already taken IELTS: - 1. When did you take IELTS (month and year)
- 2. Your Score in the 4 parts of the IELTS test
- 3. Out of the 4 possibilities listed above, which one did you get

•3. Out of the 4 possibilities listed above, which one did you get - the first 2 options

Thanks for the reply Deep17. BTW, impressive score on the writing part!!! Well done  Are you 101% sure about your reply i.e. for the General test it ALWAYS a letter (based on a situation) and a descriptive essay (NOT one based on bar/line charts and argumentative essay)? |

yes , i took this test 2 weeks back and scored 7.5 overall , listening i got 8 .. for reading , and listening i was sure that i had almost 35-36 questions correctly answered and i got 8 and 7. for writing u will get a letter and a essay , no bar charts for general. Thanks, |

I have a pdf file with 150 essays from past papers with the example answers which helped me prepare for the test. If u need that document then please let me know.
