When the letter comes in requesting to submit the passport so that they can put the Visa in the passport, how long are we given to submit the passport?

Usually 30 days, though I have heard some people were given 60 days.

I've noticed that some of you get your PR letter in letter mail and some of you, like KevinsJane, have gotten their PR letters by email.  Why is that?  And is it possible to get the PR letter through both letter mail and email?

If you don't put an email address in question 17 of the IMM 008, then it will be by mail.  Otherwise it may be just by email or both.

No e-cas is not updated when they request your passport. The PPR letter is sent by registered mail.

Hi, there. Just got my PPR thru email 3 days ago.

I was asked to send a blank reply not later than 45 days after receiving the email.

Anyone here who also got their passport request letter via email?

I got mine via e-mail from Buffalo.  They sent it on December 14, and gave me until January 30th.  That's about 45 days.

they sent us PPR request in email, never by mail, thoughthe reason was that they just were sure that I was in Canada though my mailing address was in my country of citizenship.

I got mine via e-mail too. They knew I was in Canada with my husband and would take too long for me to receive the letter from them if it was mailed.

I wonder what will happen if you send it after the deadline.need help
